I have really neglected the sewing machine recently, so I'm trying to regain some momentum. The bunny from the previous post was a start and to keep things going, I decided to do something really simple, that way I couldn't talk myself out of it. I usually have very lofty plans, and then when it comes to executing them, well, I let the side down. So I want to just keep things simple. This is a carry bag I made for Tilly's wooden fruit. The ones that are in pieces, joined by velcro that can be "cut up" with a little wooden chopper.
I made the bag from bits of fabric that I had, the inside is lined with a "thrifted" sheet. I'm quite pleased with the applique pear. It was my first attempt at a freezer paper applique and it worked very well.
I even made a pocket on the inside to store the chopper.
It closes with velcro for easy Tilly access.
All while I was doing it, I was thinking, "I could do more appliques, I could do this, I could do that" but I just had to remember to keep it simple so that I could finish it off with no problems.
All in all, a simple success. Now I just have to think of some more simple projects to maintain the momentum.
